Promotion of legally stipulated rights and obligations related to free access to information

...The Foundation Open Society - Macedonia (FOSM) supported the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information and in the period 9 May – 17 June 2011 organized nine from the ten regional training sessions planned and titled: “Right to Free Access to Public Information." Training sessions targeted citizens, associations, as well as information mediation officers at information- holding entities who are directly involved in the law’s enforcement. They were organized in Veles, Stip, Kicevo, Debar, Resen, Struga, Strumica, Gevgelija and Kratovo. In the following period, the educative training will also be delivered in Delcevo.

They are essential with a view to create active political actors and policy-making, which – by means of Elections and legitimate ruling – are translated into political solutions. Hence, in the capacity of political life creators, the political parties are not only potential power holders, but are also responsible for fostering the principles of democracy. It is because of this reason that supervision of their financing is important with a view to create and maintain a stable and legitimate political system.
