From 19th to 23rd of March a study program on “Freedom of information: How to achieve transparency of the government” organized by PAI–Public Administrational International took place in London, Great Britain. Many participants from governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations that work on implementation of the Law on free access to information in Macedonia, Nigeria, Republika Srpska, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan, Bahamas, Malaysia, Botswana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico and Ghana took part in this five days’ workshop.
On Saturday, March 10th, 2007, training was conducted for 100 applicants in Skopje, who will submit requests to the information holders of central level, by using the right from the Law on free access to information of public character. The goal is to test the implementation of the law during the year 2007.
FOSIM and the Commission for protection of the right on free access to information have presented their first experiences, challenges, dilemmas and achievements from the five month period of implementation of the Law on free access to information at the joint press conference held on February 14th, 2007.
